To the people saying that there are no Asians in Firefly because it is supposed to be inspired by the “Old West.”
There were still more Asians in the Old West than in Firefly.
#excuse me #who do you think built the railroads #and whose black powder even made building them possible?
There’s a long history of Chinese and Mexican americans living together and inter-marrying in Tucson and South Arizona in particular, like…folks banded together and helped each other out. HOW MUCH MORE OLD WEST CAN YOU GET THAN SOUTH ARIZONA? smh
Man, maybe California is its own special brand of Old West but I literally cannot think of the phrase “Old West” without free-associating to “Transcontinental Railroad” and “the Page Act” and the fucking “Chinese Exclusion Act”, do people seriously conceive of an Old West as some Beigey McBeigerville with no Asian presence at all? How? How do people think this? HOW?
Why is the Firefly fandom the worst?
QUOTED FOR TRUTH.
